Pros
Time-saving feature: Uploading files directly from Final Cut Pro. Many users have found the ability to upload files directly from Final Cut Pro to be a time-saving feature. This eliminates the need to export and upload separately, streamlining their workflow and saving valuable time.
Helpful Portfolios feature for organizing videos. The Portfolios feature on Vimeo has been appreciated by many users for its helpfulness in organizing videos. It allows them to easily categorize and showcase their work, making it convenient for clients or viewers to navigate through their portfolio.
Easy and quick uploading, tagging, and preference setting. Several reviewers have mentioned that uploading, tagging, and setting preferences on Vimeo is easy and quick. This user-friendly process simplifies the management of videos, allowing users to focus more on content creation rather than technicalities.
In my company we use Vimeo to store and share all the viewers publish in our platform. In my case we needed a reliable platform that could use for years along, be easy to use and have some features that allow us to use videos in different situations. Vimeo attends all of our needs.
Pros
Video storage
Video sharing
Built-in editing
Cons
Loading time
Likelihood to Recommend
I think Vimeo is very good if you want to host videos, share and do some quick edits, add some captions in a more professional context, but it's not a platform that works like YouTube that has an algorithm that works well to make your video viral, as a social media platform.
We use Vimeo to host all of our livestreamed worship gatherings as well as any announcement videos or event videos that we post to Facebook or our website. We prefer Vimeo to YouTube for remote hosting of our video content that has a cleaner interface and no interruptions from ads.
We also use Vimeo for other random video hosting, with appropriate folders to keep everything separated properly.
Vimeo Premium gives us all of the tools we need to have our livestream function well. We have all the room we need for hosting, and it is an easy tool to embed in our website.
Pros
Vimeo has a clean and intuitive interface
Vimeo is consistently updating and upgrading their backend
Vimeo does not require ad support that clutters videos
Vimeo Premium provides robust livestream options
Cons
Some of Vimeo's backend updates don't always get communicated clearly
Some more in-depth tools for video hosting are harder to find in Vimeo's user-friendly GUI
Pricing is a little high for the services provided
Vimeo's storage limit could be raised a bit for higher-paying tiers

Vimeo is great for hosting and posting videos with a clean interface and easy implementation into other web spaces. Vimeo's livestream tools are great for sharing livestream content on a website and/or pushed to Facebook or YouTube.
Vimeo may not have the same native viewer boost that other ad-supported platforms have. There are no ads, but limited traffic on the Vimeo site. Most videos that are shared directly do well.
We use Vimeo to upload our education videos to a learning management system for medical staff to view. Vimeo has provided my team the appropriate links and measurement data that shows viewing trends on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. I am also able to use the links in Vimeo to track and locate lectures in our LMS by using specific links to curate and store. So far, I have not experienced anything bad from Vimeo when I upload the medical lectures. The process to upload the lectures is quite simple, and our editing team does a great job in making sure the lectures are deleted and reuploaded after they have been edited.
Pros
Data trends when users view videos.
Organization of libraries is simple to manage.
Storage space is enough for my team to utilize.
Cons
Make drag and drop feature to upload videos easier.
More affordable options to upgrade account.
Live updates of viewing videos from multiple sources.

If you have little experience with video production, then Vimeo would be a perfect solution. The dashboard is simple to learn, and there isn't much to really do other than to upload videos, create a library for the videos, and give access to admins and other users to track and view videos on a regular basis.
I have used Vimeo to produce training for a small mastermind on a weekly level. I've also used it for webinars and replays of that webinar. I've used it to host courses for my business and have videos available without ads, which I really like. I was first using YouTube to do videos for my business, but I didn't like the ads appearing even for those who have paid for my courses and memberships. Vimeo is a clean-looking platform and easy to embed in my courses.
Pros
It allows me to have private links.
It allows ad-free watching.
It is a clean-looking more professional platform.
Cons
It would be nice to have an editing tool where you can edit the video right within Vimeo and not have to go to another platform to do that.
It would be nice to have a feature that separates audio from video, as Zoom does.
It would be nice to use it for going LIVE on Facebook or other social media.

For an overall professional appearance of Vimeo, I think it looks fabulous for the clients we work with. I think it works extremely well to host videos for courses and training that can be paid training. The privacy feature is great for that. I've never used it for going LIVE and wonder if that might be a good option for businesses but since I haven't tried it, I'm not of the capabilities. And I'm not sure how the clients are able to get on the LIVES. It does have so many new features since I started 4 years ago, and that means that there is a higher learning curve if you want to make full use of this platform.
I use Vimeo to host videos and to save videos I have captured on my own PC.
Pros
Quality of video is good
Cons
They make it virtually impossible to cancel your subscription online and there is no phone support either.
Likelihood to Recommend
Be certain you want to use Vimeo for the rest of your natural life because I have found it impossible to cancel my subscription online. I wanted to attach screenshots I have taken but there in no way to do that on this site which is unfortunate. You can't believe it. Here are the first five pages. 1. Login 2. Resources (Menu Option) drops down to "Help Center". 3. Account and Billing 4. Cancel My Subscription 5. End of the road. You have lots of options but they are creatively pre-planned dead ends.
1. Dead end number one. This one I wouldn't even count it is nothing compared to what happens next but they put in the left column a button to "Cancel my Subscription". Just refreshes the page you are on.
2. Another hyperlink under a large heading reading Cancel My Subscription. This link also just refreshes the same page you are on.
3. After the words: "To cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription, you are given another hyperlink and screenshots of the wonderful place where you actually cancel your subscription. But guess what. It doesn't go to the screenshot pictured. It goes to an Upgrade Plans web page.
We use Vimeo as the place to house all our video content that we share out to potential students and their families as well as current students. By using Vimeo we are able to avoid having ads from competing institutions come before our video pieces. There was nothing more frustrating than having another school's ad play before our piece.
Pros
Allows for ad free viewing
Easy to upload
Easy to link to
Cons
Sometimes when trying to upload from a mobile phone it can be clunky and hard to accomplish.
Uploads can also be slow on desktop
Likelihood to Recommend
It is best suited for organizations that do not want to have ads pop up before their video if they are connecting to these videos on other social media platforms. There are times when uploads are going slow or when it is hard to upload from a mobile device which makes doing my job a bit more difficult.
We have been using Vimeo for years and the company used to be vigilant about customer support. That's why we upgraded to premium as they added the live streaming feature.
The problem I am facing is that out of the blue the live streaming feature for which we mainly use Vimeo is totally bugged and has not been working for a very long time, where I did all the tasks the support team asked for but yet no reply or follow-up or any kind of support received. This feature is strategic and we lost huge money for their carelessness but I think they already have lost interest in caring for their clients. We are preparing seriously to move out and advise all our partners to do the same, and I will never recommend Vimeo to anyone at least for now as they failed massively in addressing our business needs and helping us overcome the tragedy they caused to our business.
Sales representatives disclose all sensitive information to their client
Account Managers for the OTT Enterprise account
Technical Support delivery date should be more accurate and in my opinion, there should be a penalty for any delay
Likelihood to Recommend
I have been with Vimeo OTT Enterprise for more than a year. In my experience, they delivered Apple APP and Android App for our channel 6 months after signing the contract agreement. It was my understanding that this should be 3 months per contract, however, they never apologized or reimbursed us for the delay.
After launching our app, we figured out our account was missing Tv apps and in my opinion, we were losing a lot of customers. We shared our frustration with our Account manager who advised us to add TV apps. We shared our audience and limited budget which only can cover 2 additional services and we have to choose the apps carefully.
The Vimeo A.M. convinced us to go with Android TV and Apple TV service. It is my belief that the Vimeo OTT Account manager hid sensitive information from me and encouraged my company to sign a contract for 2-years with the following service: 1- Apple IOS App, 2- Android app 3- Apple Tv 4- Android TV, knowing our target audience is in Europe and Middle East. In my experience, after we signed and paid, they disclosed the following information: Apple TV and Android TV only cover 17% of our market audience while Taizon OS and RUKU operating system would have covered 60% of our market audience. Then they request $$$$$ to add these services to us.
In my opinion, I believe we were tricked by this company and wasted our investment without any apologies or reimbursement. [Redact] I requested the recorded Zoom video and they said supposedly they deleted them
Our grants team was the first within our organization to migrate to Vimeo. A funding competition we were involved in required us to upload a 'private' video pitch and have them access it via the shared link. We were forced to seek an alternative product when the judging panel sent feedback that the provided link was defective and only worked intermittently. Add that to persistent advertisements when it did work, they recommended using a different platform to avoid being disqualified on technical grounds. That was the beginning of our partnership with Vimeo....which has now expanded beyond grant pitches, to both marketing and file archiving.
Pros
Vimeo executes privacy preferences on uploaded content to the letter, without any lapses.
Vimeo makes it possible to collaborate and source feedback on videos in development without the need to share actual draft files directly with anyone. With Vimeo, I can be sure of reduced risk of leakages.
Vimeo does not frustrate viewers with a ton of commercials and ads that might end up become major forces of distraction.
Cons
Pricing models are a bit complicated to understand and not very transparent.
Customer service response times could use a lot of improvement.
For marketing campaigns, Vimeo can be a little slow at generating traffic to shared content.
Likelihood to Recommend
For safe and secure privately hosted content without much risk of unauthorized access or leakages, Vimeo is the best option on the market. Also, they don't disrupt content viewing with excessive advertisements that might turn away your viewers. But then for marketing campaigns, where the primary goal is Reach, Vimeo might be less of an effective choice.
Vimeo was originally being used by our marketing team to create product marketing material, and then our support team began using it to create training videos for our Knowledge Base. We decided that we wanted to add videos to each of our Help articles so our users had the option to either watch and listen to learn how to achieve a certain task in the product, or read the step by step instructions.
Pros
User friendly - I was able to learn Vimeo on my own without any formal training. It was very straight forward.
Ability to upload videos to obtain embed codes. This is how we include videos in our Knowledge Base articles.
Analytics - I am able to see how much traffic our videos are getting. This also helps us understand which areas of our product customers are needing more assistance with.
Cons
Sometimes the upload process takes a while. After the video is uploaded, it needs to buffer/finish processing. Often times I need to step away and do something else while I am waiting for the video to fully upload so I can grab the embed code.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you are looking for a place to upload and store videos, generate embed codes, and/or capture screen recordings then Vimeo is a good fit. It is well suited for sharing videos with a targeted audience, for example, training videos. If you are looking to have a video marketplace where viewers can browse through videos, YouTube is probably a better fit.
