Overall Satisfaction with Vimeo

We use Vimeo to host all of our livestreamed worship gatherings as well as any announcement videos or event videos that we post to Facebook or our website. We prefer Vimeo to YouTube for remote hosting of our video content that has a cleaner interface and no interruptions from ads.
We also use Vimeo for other random video hosting, with appropriate folders to keep everything separated properly.
Vimeo Premium gives us all of the tools we need to have our livestream function well. We have all the room we need for hosting, and it is an easy tool to embed in our website.

Pros

  • Vimeo has a clean and intuitive interface
  • Vimeo is consistently updating and upgrading their backend
  • Vimeo does not require ad support that clutters videos
  • Vimeo Premium provides robust livestream options

Cons

  • Some of Vimeo's backend updates don't always get communicated clearly
  • Some more in-depth tools for video hosting are harder to find in Vimeo's user-friendly GUI
  • Pricing is a little high for the services provided
  • Vimeo's storage limit could be raised a bit for higher-paying tiers
  • Vimeo made it easier for our volunteers and staff to get involved in hosting and sharing video content
  • The cost of Vimeo is easily absorbed by the weekly Livestream benefits
  • We were easily able to build the annual billing into our operating budget
The design is clean and intuitive for the most part, which allows for ease of use by both novice and experience users. We are grateful for the ways that the front-end video player is easy to navigate and intuitive to use, and the backend is generally designed the same way. Tools and options are where you expect to find them, and it was easy to navigate the storage on the backend through folders and content filters.
Vimeo has a more secure hosting environment than Facebook Live. We can push to Facebook from Vimeo, so that eliminated the need for Facebook alone. YouTube has too many ad interactions, and too many suggested videos on the sidebar, so the Vimeo site has a cleaner and more focused interaction for users. Restream was more than we needed at the time, and had restrictive pricing.

Do you think Vimeo delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Vimeo's feature set?

Yes

Did Vimeo live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Vimeo go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Vimeo again?

Yes

Vimeo is great for hosting and posting videos with a clean interface and easy implementation into other web spaces. Vimeo's livestream tools are great for sharing livestream content on a website and/or pushed to Facebook or YouTube.
Vimeo may not have the same native viewer boost that other ad-supported platforms have. There are no ads, but limited traffic on the Vimeo site. Most videos that are shared directly do well.
