Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize the Absorb LMS as a means to disseminate Compliance, Safety, New Hire, and policy training to our US & global employees. We also use the system to house training records.

Pros and Cons

Send communications in a variety of languages
Is a user-friendly system
Allows for scheduled activity reports to be emailed to course owners for completion tracking purposes

The inability to report all incomplete & Complete training courses with user names and associated courses listed without the purchase of an upgraded reporting system.
Managers and Administrators have to view Inactive courses when looking at the list of courses available in the system to assign to a user. This clutters the list a bit. There should be a toggle setting to turn this off so that only Active courses are listed for enrollment selection.
I would love some sort of audio translator instead of using captioning.

Return on Investment

After using the Absorb LMS system, we've seen a reduction in the number of employees reaching out for troubleshooting or help requests when taking the training.
We've seen an increase in departments storing webinars to be used for future training and storage of information.

Alternatives Considered

Cornerstone OnDemand and Docebo Learning Suite

Absorb LMS was better priced that Cornerstone on Demand and is so much more user-friendly. Cornerstone was difficult to use, the fonts were very small, whereas Absorb LMS has larger fonts and more color to the platform, making it more visually appealing and user-friendly. Cornerstone did, however, have a more robust reporting feature.

Docebo was evaluated when looking for a new LMS, but it did not appear to be as user-friendly from an administrative standpoint.

All in all, the Absorb LMS system is a user-friendly system for the employee as well as the administrator. Creating courses is not cumbersome and allows for a variety of types. The only missing type of content that it doesn't allow is the upload of a PPT that can be viewed directly in the training window instead of forcing the download to the user's computer. The workaround is to save the PPT presentation as a video or to create a scorm file.

I really like the scheduled emailed course activity reports that can be set up for course owners so that they may track course completion by users.

All in all, I would highly rate the system from a cost standpoint, user-friendliness, and in the area of course creation. I do wish the more advanced reporting features were included without a significant cost upgrade.
