Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used the Acquia Cloud Platform to build our whole website. The cloud platform along with Site Studio helps developers to use efficient methods to build, code and implement business logics. The customization that can be offered with the help of Site Studio to the content authors/business user is far greater than what other CMS's provide. Since, the customization offered is higher the process of deploying new content changes becomes exponentially smoother. I believe this helps the business user's to not rely on developers to implement content and layout related changes, since everything is implemented on the website in a component-based approach.

Pros and Cons

Customization of components based on the website design.
No more relying on developers to make layout and content changes.
Smooth process of creating Site Studio components, be it custom or native components.
Edit process within the CMS is smooth for the content author with content workflows.

I believe they could increase the availability of their documentation for Site Studio. A lot of things remain a mystery till you work on it for a considerable amount of time.
The implementation of CI/CD using BLT is a process which seems to be a bit complicated. Again, no accurate documentation explaining the whole process.
Custom component creation is a thing that is required very much from our end for designs with animations/content flows. That becomes difficult sometimes without inbuilt features.
The animate on view does not work well in Site Studio. The animations are choppy and hence require external JS for it to work.

Return on Investment

We haven't had such impacts till now since our website launched recently. But with the current implementation, I believe we expect something positive.
