Pros

  • Act-On makes it easy to convert HTML coding for email marketing, combined with an automated capability to send the email to correct contacts.
  • It's easy to use and straightforward.
  • It integrates easily with Salesforce, making it valuable in our outreach with clients and contacts.

Cons

  • I've had trouble, as is the case for many email marketing automation platforms, getting past quarantines and filters to hit inboxes.
  • We do achieve improved ROI over time, primarily with click-throughs and other calls to action (e.g. webinar registration).
Act-On has made quite a number of improvements so far, but I I feel the user interface could be improved further to be more easily understood and engaging.
In looking for an email marketing automation tool, we were particularly looking for one that integrates well with Salesforce, and Act-On seamlessly does so. It's easy to update lists and address particular groups.

The reporting structure seems to be complete and satisfying. We enjoy being able to review which email contacts opened which links and how they interacted with each particular email. It is very helpful.
