However none of these have been as easy to use from a platform perspective. Its very intuitive and in a short period of weeks we have been able to set up the platform, fully integrate it with our systems and create lead scoring and funnel reports. When I joined Anachron, one of my key goals was to professionalize the marketing department - almost starting from scratch. Act-On enables me to monitor, maintain and execute a range of internal, inbound and outbound marketing activities through a single platform. It is the cornerstone of our entire marketing platform and its excellent integration with Salesforce and robust sales user functionality has enabled us to strengthen the relationship between marketing and sales greatly.,Behaviour Analysis. Anachron allows me to monitor all user behaviour on our websites, landing pages, emails webinars and other items. This knowledge, even the anonymous company data around who is on our sites and what they are doing is invaluable. Email marketing and list management. Act-On's list management and email capabilities compare very favourably with some of the higher end automation tools I've used in the past. Although it has its quirks, it stands up strong against its biggest competitors in this regard. Sales Support. The Act-On Anywhere Chrome Extension has rapidly become a must have item for our entire sales team. This recent addition to Act-On gives much greater insight into prospect behaviour to sales and most importantly enables the to get access to that information without having to log into another system, It's included right there in their emails and their web browser. The Act-On tab in Salesforce is also of great interest to our sales team.,Program automation: the only feature I miss from Eloqua, which I used in a previous role, is the drag and drop canvas for building out a drip campaign. Act-On's functionality works perfectly, but the fact it's all listed in one vertical line makes it slightly more difficult to visualize the flow. Having said that, the tools are all there, it could just do with some extra visualization when it comes to making complex programs. Website prospector. This is one of the features I use very heavily and although the new version recently launched is a big improvement, there's still room for more info. It's by no means bad, but I'd like to see some extra info in here. Forms: Id like to see a more visual formbuilder, in line with the landing page improvements recently made. The form works great but are quite plain visually. This could be improved and remove the need for extra tools in WordPress/other programs.,9,Average web audience grew 300% within three months, with visitors coming from over 100 countries. Greater integration and cooperation between marketing and sales. Enabled us to become much more proactive in lead generation that the company was able to do previously. The composer is so effective, I use it instead of coding. Drip campaign setup. I was a newbie to automation, so drip campaigns scared me a little bit. Not anymore. It's very easy to set up and understand with the help of our customer success manager. Support. The support from Act-On has been unspeakable! From the sales manager, to the CSM, to the actual support line. They handle your issue and communicate updates in whatever means is best for you (phone, email, etc.).,Social platform. It allows you to easily publish, but not to track metrics. You have to go to the actual platform for that information. I enjoy selecting lists for my emails, and I like the ability to time when the emails will go out I like that my staff can setup an email campaign and leave it for my review (and I get notified when it's ready for my final review). I'd like a bit more granular control. Trying to cancel can be tricky and was very frustrating for me. We get great mileage out of the forms and landing pages, both for their intended purposes as well as additional applications. The backend use of the product is used by the marketing department primarily, but our sales team also has visibility. We use Act-On as one of our primary means to keep in touch with our customers, clients, partners and prospects. It is our most powerful non-human sales tool.,Act-On's support team is the best I've seen. Our account contact, Jacob Monserrat, is knowledgeable, intelligent, and very responsive. We find this to be a distinguishing factor when compared to similar products. Act-On's user interface is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Act-On's integration with Salesforce is actually quite simple to use. If everything could be displayed on the page itself without any scroll (except for the regular scroll on the existing page) that would be ideal for when I have to make screenshots of information to send in emails. The interface menus are confusing. The homepage with the vertical menu plus the horizonal menus on the upper navigation is a little repetitive and sometimes counter productive. Sometimes I can't remember where i found specific information and it takes me a while to get back to it because there are so many menu options. I think things should be grouped differently and a bit simpler. SEO features, you should be able to audit for more than one keyword at a time so you dont have to run the same reports several times for one page,7,Sales really enjoys seeing names of people who are interested in our products we publish in real time. We get a good sense of which search terms are working, Google Paid Per Click tracking, referring sites (so that we can say thanks in some cases), and alert us when someone of significance is back on our site. Marketing List Management: The segmentation aspects are very nice. We are able to easily segment lists and be sure that we are targeting specific people or groups. Dashboard: The main screen for all things going on. It's a good quick read on what's happening on various marketing campaigns and initiatives. Ease of Use: The system is just easy to use. I was concerned about not knowing enough when we embarked on this journey but the system is designed so that most can get up and going fairly quickly due in large part to it's user interface which is very clean.,Templates: If you are coming from some email marketing systems (like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, SwiftPage) you won't find a very heavy library of visually pleasing starter templates to modify and configure. It's very basic but does get the job done. Partner Program: There is not a large partner channel set up right now. They are working on it and have efforts to build this out in short order but it is something to be mindful of in your evaluation. They have a super staff and onboarding experience but if you are looking for more than "how to" in terms of working in the program and need "marketing best practices" or moving beyond "where to click" guidance, the supply of trusted providers is short.,9,Increased SEO capabilities Better segmentation which has allowed us to improve our focus and opens/click thru Reporting: This tool has made us better at marketing because it provides us key areas to analyze and act on now (pardon the pun) Increased site visits and conversions: We have now begun to be able to pull more people in and know when it's best to react to a buyers journey. Act-On addresses the need for IT involvement in creating landing pages and email campaigns. Our speed to release email campaigns and landing pages has increased significantly. Act-On also allows us to use behavior based marketing automation which we did not have the ability to do with our CRM marketing platform we were using prior to CRM. Act-On compliments our CRM (SUGARCRM) and allows us to keep track of behavioral scores so that our sales team can view the information as well.,User friendly interface is one of the strongest selling point for Act-On. It did not take much time to learn the system. Customer service and support is one of the best I have experienced. From the point of educating during my buying process, through implementation and now even 2 years later they are still supporting me with using other functions of their software that I may not be using to its full potential. Act-On is also priced competitively. That is another strength to Act-On.,Act-On could improve by having an editorial calendar where you could plan all of the marketing activities. Currently I am using Google Calendar for all of my marketing scheduling. Sales can view all activity completed by marketing within the individual records.,Support - Call the number, they answer the phone. No long holds, instant answers to your questions. Other systems often have your fill out a online form and take over a day to call you back. Imagine you are trying to get something set up and you hit a roadblock. Other systems, wait a day and they will get back to you. Call Act-on, they give you the answer an you are able to move forward. They resolve most questions on the first call. They are even open until 6PM pst. I couldn't find this with any other vendor. This is where they shine in comparison. Ease of Use - Lots of just point and click in creating emails, landing pages and forms. Very easy to use. No HTML required. Lots of great templates to start with. It's just a matter of getting use to where things are. From there, you can quickly start creating emails. I was able to send out an email within a week of launching. Account Managers - You are assigned an account manager who follows up with you. He/she audits how you are using the system and makes sure you are using all of the features. This is not just a sold you the software and you are now on your own. If you don't reach out to them, they will reach out to you. Act-on wants you to be succcessful. Integration with Salesforce.com - Set up in minutes. Works great.,Every once in awhile, I find a desired feature that is missing. It's usually very minor and I can find a work around. However, they encourage you to provide feedback and they usually address these in the next release. Professional Services - This was the only disappointment I've encountered in working with them. It was clear it was outsourced in India (Tech support and all other employees are US though) and the quality control was just not there. I needed to go through each of them with a fine tooth comb. Some graphics were clearly missing. Additionally, I had some complaints from staff that the list cleaning service (outsourced) removed from our database, exisiting customers that we knew were current when it was cleaned. I've heard, they have since brought back the professional services in house which should address my concerns.,10,Increased Employee Efficiency....let marketing prioritize and make sales reps know which ones to call first, which ones are interested again. I like the sales reps to spend more time on the "Good leads". It means you don't get lost in the shuffle. They are always rolling out new features. They ask for feedback and ideas and their engineers get to it. They have much stronger reporting capabilities now than they did a year ago and have recently added a inbound marketing feature that is nice if you run extensive AdWords campaigns.,WebEx. It's a bit of a sticking point because it's not Act-On's fault but the limitation that WebEx posed on their API. So really, I am mad at WebEx. They change the interface without informing anyone and suddenly my event will not work correctly because of something I did not tick. Campaigns. They have added additional functionality so it is not a current complaint but I had always wished we had a campaign view with various activities rolled in for reporting. Now they do. Social Dashboard. It's pretty good but every time I tried using it, the LinkedIn Company page function did not work. Not sure if it is fixed now.,9,Increased employee efficiency. From every layer of support - online, phone, Act-On University, etc - I have received amazing levels of expert development and patient customer support. To a stressed-out, caffeine-riddled, designer/marketer...this is invaluable.,Act-On is continuously improving their user experience and really seems to listen to feature requests so these are usually taken care of before I get to the level of expertise! ACT-ON is a good tool for us. And, I don't see a reason why we wouldn't renew from a functional perspective. One thing we are keeping an eye on is their support of the partner community and continued development of more integrations with content management systems (such as WordPress) and other CRM platforms. In addition, we are also watching out for additional templates and content for us to utilize.

I will certainly recommend the renewal of Act-On for this client because the more the organization uses it the more features are unlocked to us. It's much like eating an elephant - it can't be done all at once. We started with email marketing and SalesForce integration. We got good at scheduling emails, creating the emails and interpreting the data in about 6 months. Then we moved into using the system to create webforms and marketing automation. We have been using those features for over a year. We still have not uncovered the social media tools and many of the other features. Act-On is a tool that grows with the business and I anticipate there is a lot of data being collected that will be invaluable for future decisions on marketing spend and activities - we have yet to uncover the many benefits of Act-On.

We have taken our marketing practices from the stone age to 21st century! There are so many features we are able to do now because of Act-On. They include: landing pages, surveys, new call-to-actions on website, enhanced reporting with webinar integration, lead scoring and nurturing with automated campaigns. I can't imagine doing my job without this tool!
