Overall Satisfaction with Workday Adaptive Planning

In my organization, Adaptive Insights is used by managers only and some other workers at the second level. The only issue we currently have is that the data is uploaded manually, therefore, the other users don’t have the information updated real time.

Adaptive is very easy to use mainly because the instructions are easy to understand and the videos, images, and examples are very helpful.
It’s well suited for strategic planning and financial management. It’s less appropriate for statistics.

Workday Adaptive Planning Implementation

I believe that it is extremely important to make the new budgeting process and tool known to all areas of the company in good time. In this way, the departments have time to prepare to improve their budget models and that the transition of these are fruitful. In the same way, the technology team will prepare the entire battery of data that will be consumed in the implementation and also budget at least one full-time reporting specialist for the implementation process.

Change management was a major issue with the implementation - All the managerial team learned to use a same planification tool to do a budget, follow the same line of work and allowed us to improve the communication between different department in the company. Before adaptive planning, the path to elaborate a budget was in different excel file and in the end of the day the planification department had to mix all these file to create the general budget with errors in the middle.
  • Getting used to daily data loading routines
  • Getting used to budgeting at the level of detail for the managers
  • Accept new budget responsibilities for managers
  • At the beginning, the tool generated mistrust due to design errors that were later overcome.
