Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

I use Adobe Acrobat in my organization to view documents, organize pages, extract pages, redact information, add OCR to documents, and send documents out for signatures. The problems that Adobe Acrobat addresses are that the native application for viewing documents on my Macbook work laptop, Preview, does not have extensive features the way Adobe Acrobat does. I might be able to get these tasks done if I figure out some workarounds, but it’s much more efficient to be able to complete everything with one app that’s intuitive to use.

Pros

  • Organizing pages in documents
  • Preparing and sending documents for signatures
  • Redacting sensitive information from documents

Cons

  • Ability to turn off AI features from appearing
  • Increased operational efficiencies
  • Increased productivity
  • Increased security and compliance
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Ease of Use
Being able to use Adobe Acrobat as a tool within the Creative Cloud subscription makes this a more affordable and easy to use application than relying on a different software provider. I prefer that the applications I use have predictable user interfaces and because Adobe creates the ones I use most often, it was easy to learn the Adobe Acrobat interface as well.
I have easily been able to provide redacted documents to colleagues using Adobe Acrobat’s redaction tools. It ensures that the information is not only blacked out with rectangles but also completely sanitized underneath the rectangles so that someone who is tech savvy is not able to just go in and modify the PDF that I deliver to them.
Adobe Acrobat has much more features than Apple Preview. Apple Preview is good for opening up a PDF for quick browsing but their tools to redact information or prepare PDFs for signatures are much simpler. I just go straight for Adobe Acrobat because I don’t want to compromise on the selection of features. This is important to my organization as well.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Adobe Acrobat is useful if your department already has a subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud. It may be less appropriate if your organization is on a budget and therefore must rely on native applications to meet their needs. Ultimately it is up to an organization to assess their budget and compare it to how much use they would get out of the application.
