Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate
I use Adobe Captivate to develop and publish (in SCORM format) E-Learning modules for or team. We create interactive role-play scenarios with combinations of video, text, and pictures. We also use it to craft product demos, review updates to services and products, and to create short refresher courses on various items within our organization.
- Integrating Video, text, and images
- Crafting interactive scenarios
- While easy to use, there are layers of complexity that can be daunting at first
- Video editing and picture editing within the application are limited (though it integrates nicely with other Adobe products)
- Training is more efficient to create, saving time and money
- Training can be crafted quickly if needed and uploaded into any LMS
We were wowed by Adobe Captivate at a conference 5 or 6 years ago. While, in many ways, Articulate is the gold standard for crafting E-Learning it's also much more expensive to do so with add-ons. Captivate is cost efficient if you want to have access to the latest tools and the largest selection of features. The learning curve (once you get past the basics) can be a bit daunting at first, but once you dive in it's actually pretty easy and intuitive.
