Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate

I have used Adobe Captivate to develop online content for our college courses by linking it to our learning management system.
  • Create directed learning pathways for students based on their needs.
  • Integration with other Adobe products.
  • The interactivity of content.
  • Could be more intuitive.
  • Better starting point (i.e., rather than building content from scratch, it would be great to have a library of templates to pull from.
  • Needs more frequent feature updates.
  • Ease of use for quick content production.
  • Accessibility (i.e., section 508 compliance)
  • Engaging interactive content production.
  • Adobe Captivate has allowed our instructors to engage students in ways we never have before.
  • Instructors who have used Adobe Captivate in our organization have reported higher levels of engagement with their courses and their students, theoretically leading to improved assessment of student performance.
It is easier and quicker for me to produce a lesson in Storyline vs. Adobe Captivate. That being said, Adobe Captivate has more options to customize content. It would be nice if Adobe Captivate provided more baseline templates to work with to facilitate quicker lesson production.

Do you think Adobe Captivate delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Captivate's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Captivate live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Captivate go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Captivate again?

Yes

Adobe Captivate can be a powerful tool when used alongside other Adobe products. Furthermore, the seamless connection with Adobe's LMS is a nice bonus. Conversely, integration between Adobe Captivate outputs and LMS' (e.g., Canvas) leaves much to be desired. That being said, LMS integration is on-par with its competitors (e.g., Storyline360). Lastly, it has improved accessibility i.e., section 508 compliant outputs would greatly expand my ability to use Adobe Captivate in my organization.
