Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Commerce

We used Adobe Commerce (Magento) to process customer phone orders. We no longer use it as the interface was difficult, we could not save drafts, and whenever we made a mistake with the card details, it would clear the whole section, so customers got annoyed with us. We moved onto Shopify instead.

Pros

  • Saves customers.
  • Lets you save products.
  • Keep customer details.

Cons

  • We could not save drafts for later.
  • If a card mistake happened, all details cleared.
  • Slow to load.
  • Negative as it was slow to use.
  • Negative as we could not store quotes.
  • Positive that we could place orders.
Being unable to store quotes for later was annoying. People called up expecting to pay there and then, and having to place them on hold whilst you added items to the basket and input all their customer information in was annoying for them and us, making us look unprofessional.
Shopify is just better. In my opinion, it can save quotes, have different pricing for resellers, have multiple catalogues, do blogs, change the website, etc. It feels like Shopify is designed to do everything and does it all quite well overall, whilst Magento is for one thing and does it quite severely.

Do you think Adobe Commerce delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Commerce's feature set?

No

Did Adobe Commerce live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Commerce go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Commerce again?

No

We need to do a lot of quotes, and sometimes customers call and want to pay. Adobe Commerce (Magento) did not let you keep saved quotes, so you had to put people on hold whilst you started making the order from scratch rather than just taking payment, which was very annoying.
