Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Creative Cloud Express (formerly Adobe Spark)

I love using Adobe CC Express for quick and easy graphics. As a graphic designer primarily, I of course use the entire Creative Cloud suite. And it's nice having the full versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc, and the multitude of tools included in them. But sometimes it's nice to have something quick and easy for putting together a Facebook post, without having to sift through the hundreds of different tools to knock out something simple.

Pros

  • Simplicity of use
  • Interface is great for people who are familiar with Adobe tools
  • The price is great as it is included in a package I (and most designers) already pay for

Cons

  • Canva has a better interface, in my opinion... I like that this one is friendly to Adobe users, but I would likely recommend Canva to someone who's never used design software for a complete beginner.
  • Removing the background from images doesn't always work well. I almost always need to switch to Photoshop for this.
  • The touch screen interface could be better; graphics on mobile apps are tough in general but specifically, the iPad interface could use some improvement.
  • Time! I can knock out social media graphics in significantly less time vs. Photoshop.
  • We've been able to add more social media services as this gives up more bandwidth to create more content in a given day.
  • Mobile use. I no longer have to create a graphic in Photoshop and then email it to myself if I need to quickly text it to a client or post it from a mobile app.
I would define these as "pretty good." Depending on my time frame, there are still instances where I jump online to my regular stock photo sites (or non-Adobe font providers) and create my graphic in Photoshop when CC Express doesn't have exactly what I'm looking for. However, I've used this platform for a while, and I find that happening less and less lately.
Ease of use is a 10/10 and in my opinion the most significant value proposition of this software. As an Adobe user for over 10 years, I was able to jump into this software with little to no learning curve; as opposed to Canva, which was still easy to use but had more of a learning curve than Adobe CC Express in my experience. However, I think this platform is simple enough for even a non-Adobe user to jump right in.
I think it is good, but not great, in this regard. There are still several instances where I will start the project in Adobe CC Express and then end up switching to Photoshop if I'm not getting the desired effect. However, for simple things like social media posts, Adobe CC Express does these quick tasks (image resizing, etc) just as well as more traditional software such as Photoshop or Illustrator.

Do you think Adobe Express delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Express's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Express live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Express go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Express again?

Yes

I would recommend Adobe CC Express, especially if the colleague were an established Adobe user. The interface is designed so that anyone familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or any other Adobe software products, will be familiar. This is a product that competes with Canva, but it's great to have the simplicity of Canva with an interface that feels familiar from day one.
