Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

We've experimented with using Adobe Firefly to create blog post images for our clients. You can use Adobe Firefly to create images in the same style following corporate brand guidelines. The important thing to note is Firefly is trained on royalty-free images and includes this in the image metadata. Other image generating LLMs such as Midjourney have been trained on images from the internet, including artists and photographer's work, which will likely cause problems in the future.

Pros

  • Generating royalty-free images
  • Moodboards at the start of the design process
  • GenAI

Cons

  • Would like a desktop app
  • Client expect quick turnaround times and Adobe Firefly helps
It's an Adobe product -- they have years making design software and it shows. It is an enterprise product with solid usability. Compare that to start ups with (sometimes) clunky UI and broken parts.
Adobe Firefly reduces the risk of future copyright claims and fines.

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

Yes

The tool is constantly improving, so well done to the team. I've enjoyed using the new Boards feature, which is like a moodboard / pinterest board which you can use to start creatively exploring. The image generation is improving and looks less and less AI generated each month, especially with the tools to match the style (using an existing image).
