Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Marketo Engage

We used Adobe Marketo Engage as our email blast tool. While Adobe Marketo Engage can do a lot of other things, we only used it for email blasts. We did not connect it to our CRM, we did not use any automations, we did not use it for chat. However, we did use it for web forms but we did not use the landing page creator.

Pros

  • Email sending
  • Email analytics
  • Email templates

Cons

  • In my opinion, the user interface is not very good considering the cost of the tool
  • In my opinion, the template designer is not very good considering how advanced many other email tools are at a fraction of the cost
  • Our Adobe reps changed quite a bit and, in our experience, never did a good job
  • In my opinion, training is costly
  • We only sent emails, but it did a good job with that
  • In our opinion, it is expensive, so just as an email tool we could no longer justify the expense
  • Training and customer success were let-downs to us
  • Product Launches
  • Prospecting / New Business
We intended to increase product sales and find new business by communicating with leads who filled out forms on our websites. Adobe Marketo Engage did what we needed it to do, but for us, it was too expensive to justify the cost.
We started with Adobe Marketo Engage and used them for around 5 years. However, we did not grow much with the tool and support and customer success did little to help us with our growth in the tool. So the cost was not justifiable so we switched to a different provider at less than half of the cost.

Do you think Adobe Marketo Engage delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Adobe Marketo Engage's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Marketo Engage live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Marketo Engage go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Marketo Engage again?

No

I think Adobe Marketo Engage has some Ferrari-like features, and if you intend to use every aspect of it, it is worth the cost. However, we did not use these features and, in our experience, Adobe Marketo Engage was not flexible with the pricing. We ended up leaving for a much cheaper platform that still gets the job done with zero issues since the switch. In our experience, Adobe Marketo Engage support is not great, training is crazy expensive.
