Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Stock
My team regularly needs high-quality imagery for product packaging and marketing materials, and we need a high volume of said imagery due to the significant amount of in-house design work on a very tight schedule that rarely gives us time to create new illustrations from scratch or do on-site photography. Adobe Stock allows us access to a large library of high-quality royalty-free photography vector illustrations so that we can easily create our designs in a timely fashion at the level of quality we need without worrying about copyright infringement.
- Large library of photography
- High quality vector graphics
- Integration with other Adobe products
- More obscure search terms (objects, locations) have very few images available
- Some images featuring people look incredibly staged and fake
- Military imagery largely out of date as far as uniforms
- Variety of imagery
- Archive of images with previous purchased licenses
- Ease of access (anyone can search the library even if they don't have an account)
- Subscriptions can be on the expensive side
- Photography featuring people often will not have any imagery with non-white people available
- Stock video not included in many of the subscriptions
Generally, Adobe Stock is cheaper than its big competitors but still has many of the same or similar images, though not quite the breadth of photography/illustrations either. However, it has significantly more options than its cheaper (or free) alternatives as well. The built-in integration with Creative Cloud apps is a massive plus and increases the ease of use and image access. Ultimately for the cost, it had the best return as far as options to fit our budget and imagery needs.
