Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ADP SmartCompliance was implemented as part of a broader consolidation effort to align multiple systems and processes within our HR function. Specifically, we're using it to help streamline our employment verification processes within our recruiting function, and to assist with some aspects of payrolling and wage garnishments. Prior to implementing this technology, our payroll processes were not aligned across the US and Canada, as well as our vendor management processes for employment verifications. SmartCompliance has helped automate a handful of payroll processes, specifically around wage garnishments. [The reviewer also discusses ADP's Screening and Selection Service, which is used for pre-employment screenings and background checks, in parts of this review. ADP Screening and Selection Service is a separate set of services not included in ADP SmartCompliance.]"

Pros and Cons

Pros

Provides consistent, streamlined processes across multiple functions for employment background checks.
Reduces time to manually input wage garnishment information through automation.
Helped align disjointed payroll processes faced across multiple regions.

Cons

Could do with better integration with certain, preferred background vendors we've been using for a long time.
The UX could use more enhancements, as it's rather basic.
Some functionality isn't as intuitive, as we'd hoped for around processing wage garnishment information.

Return on Investment

It's reduced capital spend relating to vendor management with employment backgrounds.
It's reduced our manual input work with wage garnishment information.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited if being integrated with well-established systems like Workday, or vendors with a large market presence and robust capabilities to integrate well. It's not really that great when trying to integrate with smaller vendors.

This service is not part of ADP SmartCompliance, however I've passed your feedback along to the product owner for that solution. The wage garnishment processing capabilities are indeed part of ADP SmartCompliance. We're glad that is saving you some time and reducing manual input.
