Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense
I use AlphaSense for business intelligence, this includes looking at the market (e.g. size, key players, trends), and competitors (e.g. revenue, strategy, product launches, clinical studies, patents). The financial analyst reports have been very useful to get a high-level overview of our competitors. And then the various articles (e.g. press-release or just news articles) and reports (update to clinical trials, patents) give a more granular analysis. I send out a bi-weekly intelligence newsletter to my organization and I use AlphaSense to capture some (not all) of the content. When we have specific projects, I also use AlphaSense to conduct due diligence.
- Easy to search, as it uses NLP
- One stop shop combining the commercial and scientific insights
- Web-based, I can easily access it anywhere
- Newsletter, e.g. Recommended Reads
- Structuring the sources as AlphaSense has so many and often when we selected only a couple of sources, we get better hits than selecting all sources. But it can be difficult to select the right ones
- Setting up the searches so that we can continuously monitor through the newsletters. So far this has worked well for companies (using the ticker) but not so much on the topics (to make it as specific as possible and still getting hits)
- Sharpen competitive intel
- Efficient pre-due diligence
- Consolidated insights (commercial and scientific)
In my role, working closely with the leadership team and the various ventures in the organization, AlphaSense has been very crucial. It is pretty much my first stop when I need to gather data or check on assumptions.
Much better as AlphaSense offers a lot more information than just the companies and CB Insights is only covering the startups.
