Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

I use AlphSense to monitor 6 of my company's competitors. My focus is on investments such as acquisitions, but I also require information on partnerships and products. The 6 competitors are in the industrial software sector. I always need CAGR estimates for business units within these companies and any qualitative commentary on the value of acquistions and/or partnerships.

Pros

  • Provide access to analyst reports
  • Provide access to primary interview transcripts
  • Displays the upcoming quarterly earnings call on my landing page
  • Chat function for assistance
  • Displays a column with the "key words in context"

Cons

  • Remove the black background and replace with a white background
  • Regarding the Chat - Help box...add a "minimize" button. I realize now that the "X" button within the Chat is a minimize button, but I didn't know that until somebody told me. To my mind, "X" means "Signing off".
  • Gain deeper insights
  • Added confidence
  • CAGR data
  • More informed decisions
The usability is fine - I don't really have any issues.
I am fairly new at my job so I am not able to respond to this question.
I also use Cap IQ and Biotech Gate which are not in your list. I believe PitchBook has a better search function as it allows the user to create a much more sophisticated search strategy.

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

AlphaSense it a great tool for monitoring a group of competitors as it includes Analyst Report - that is the main thing. Analyst Reports are not freely available on the web.
Although earnings calls are freely available on the web. Most companies have subscriptions to the major industry journals. But Analyst Reports are not available on the web.
The addition of the primary interview transcripts adds "color" to my reports.
