Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

I use Alteryx in almost every area of our business. In consulting with clients, I use Alteryx as part of testing data migration, ETL, validating configuration settings in ERP systems, developing analytics used in internal audits and operations, and others. I also use it internally for reading and converting text or CSV files into a usable data format, reading data in and converting to reports, and reviewing Excel files provided by other users.

Alteryx has many connectors that allow it to bring data in from various systems and export it to various formats and systems (SQL Server, Oracle DB, ODBCs, etc.) There are also additional connectors available provided by third parties that can help with connecting to other platforms not in Alteryx by default. These work well with Alteryx and enable easy access to data that previously took several steps. Excel users will dramatically increase productivity using Alteryx.

Alteryx is very flexible if you are using the right tools within it. It is well suited for dealing with data files that need to be joined together or analyzed. It is less appropriate for working with files needing OCR conversion to retrieve data until those files have been read by an OCR software.

I've submitted support tickets that are responded to timely and resolved quickly. In addition to Alteryx support directly, there is a robust knowledge base and community where answers can be found to common issues as well as providing specific problems to the community and getting very specific answers to any issues you may encounter while building your workflows. This typically includes other users providing you with a workflow to resolve your specific issue.

Using Alteryx

I've found that while some things might take a little longer to create, the flexibility of Alteryx allows you to perform any function needed. I haven't found a use that was not available in Alteryx yet. APIs and XMLs can be created to perform certain functions. In addition, CMD line commands can be sent using Alteryx to perform certain functions as well.
