Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

Our team uses Alteryx to pull in data from multiple sources (mostly excel and S3 buckets), then blend, prep, and apply formulas in a forecasting model. This model is used to give labor forecasts and recommendations. As an individual contributor I have grown to love Alteryx as it takes the place of using Python and Excel individually for prepping reports and blending data.
  • Data blending
  • Data prep
  • Report Building
  • Python integration
  • Data visuals
  • Improved cost savings based on reports built in Alteryx
  • Team upskilling by participating in conferences and community
  • Time savings from automating reporting and data blending
I mostly use local data sources and prep my data to not cause a buildup of records, which allows my workflows to run quickly. For others, Alteryx provides lots of training opportunities and a community that shows how to setup your workflows to run more quickly. Other than that the only slowdowns are my own bandwidth issues in pulling from S3 buckets.
I have used the machine learning features very little. In a head to head kaggle competition (with no feature engineering) Alteryx machine learning performed close to AutoGluon in results.

Do you think Alteryx delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Alteryx's feature set?

Yes

Did Alteryx live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Alteryx go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Alteryx again?

Yes

Anyone that is mostly reliant on SQL and Excel (and some of those that rely on Python/Pandas) for day to day tasks could benefit from using Alteryx. I used to be very reliant on pulling in data from SQL and other sources, then building out reports in excel - I now have it automated in Alteryx to where I just have to hit run.
