Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

We use Alteryx for A LOT of solutions!
In total, Alteryx is the jack-of-all toolboxes for your jack-of-all workers that don't have the time to learn to code or learn fifteen different platforms. With their no-code/low-code options anyone can start automating.

I have implemented it to create (and automate) our month end reports for ALCO at the beginning of each month and reflecting back on the previous month-end/quarter-end. It can be used to create applications to provide a more seamless analysis search for a less-skilled user. I have used it to geocode and then reverse-geocode within the same workflow in order to get an accurate depiction of data within our branch regions. My favorite use case at the moment is not what it is really advertised for. My team and I are building an application to be accessed by the Accounting team to create entries/review entries/attach support for entries that will create the necessary file outputs to be batch uploaded the following day.
  • ETL: extracting from random platforms and cleaning data
  • Analysis: breaking down large data into smaller bite-size chunks in routine ways
  • Creating an interface for applications that lesser skilled users can still use
  • Customer Service is PHENOMENAL
  • Data visualization is not its best skill
  • Excited to see what the Cloud version brings to the table
  • Chaining apps within Gallery is a touch confusing
  • Using Alteryx, we have fully automated our traditional ALCO materials.
  • Went from manual month-end data pulls to automated daily data updates.
  • Has saved our institution hundreds of hours this year alone (half way through).
Alteryx is an extremely reliable platform. If there is an error in my workflow, I feel pretty strongly it was probably my fault. The platform also handles large amounts of data very quickly and can join/match, sort, filter, calculate on that data quickly as well. One of my favorite things to build into a workflow are the messages based on data/metadata and error messages based on errors I have come across before.
Although I plan on using these features, I have not used them to a level where I feel comfortable commenting on them. I also do not have any experience in using R or Python for those purposes either.

Do you think Alteryx delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Alteryx's feature set?

Yes

Did Alteryx live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Alteryx go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Alteryx again?

Yes

The best scenario for Alteryx to make the biggest impact is within small-to medium-sized institutions where there isn't a fully established coding/data team in place. While it will ultimately be helpful wherever it is implemented, Alteryx can help these institutions from day 1 and continue lifting that load as you won't have to go back to the same project or workflow every day/week/month.
