Overall Satisfaction with Apptio Targetprocess

We use Apptio Targetprocess to have visibility of the work going on within the organization and to tie Objectives and Key Results to the work. We have most of our software development work in Apptio Targetprocess

Pros

  • Users can be very self sufficient in creating views and reports
  • Easy to implement automation, validation rules and metrics
  • Dashboards provide a good way to show consolidated info

Cons

  • Improve the left hand side nav as the different reports and views make it hard to find things
  • A better UI so it can be used for Executive level reporting
  • Better performance when running reports
  • Extended domain objects have the same functionality as regular objects
  • In list views, have the ability to show more than 4 levels
  • Reduced the need for spreadsheet
  • More transparency of the work that is going on
  • The ability for teams to see what other teams are working on
Apptio Targetprocess has more features and is more flexible for our users and its easier to develop automation rules and metrics than Atlassian JIRA Alige or Planview AgilePlan.

Apptio Targetprocess is well suited to track work and progress of that work. In addition it is easy to tie that work to OKRs. Cost and hours rollup across the work hierarchy works well. Our users like the flexibility of Targetprocess and the ability to develop their own views and reports Scenarios where it is less appropriate is to do executive level reporting and develop reports that can pull in all of our time data since there is a 300k record limit
