Overall Satisfaction with ARIS Business Process Management (BPM)

We have been using the ARIS BPA for defining and maintaining repositories for various industries further facilitating projects like portfolio management, enterprise architecture consulting and mainly for SAP and BPM solutioning. It is being used in other geographies too for our organization.
  • BPMN, EPC based modelling of business processes
  • Enterprise Architecture modelling and consulting using support of TOGAF and ArchiMate with extended packages to ARIS BPA
  • Continuously evolving product based on upcoming and current industry trends
  • Supports IOT modelling and also cloud based infrastructure management
  • Defining databases, use of entities and relationship diagrams, define data, like data models, there is still a part they could improve.
  • Providing more standard reports and improving on access rights and privileges functionality
  • The technical support is good and response time is good as well.
  • Sometimes continuous upgrade to newer versions makes the customer environment unstable for short duration.

Features like SAP Solman Sync, Alfabet EA integration (another Software AG product) and a well defined framework for BPM or any consulting practice across any verticals or domains is useful in a consulting practice, whether it's TOGAF methodology, running a BPM Lifecycle or Six Sigma process analysis.


The vendor continuously brings updated versions to the market with bug fixes from earlier versions and fulfills users'/customer expectations, so they are inline with continuous improvement.

They have the priority request types set already, so in case of a crisis with ARIS (or any major issue) we can reach them by phone (24 hr support or drop them email) ,they are always available to respond.
  • Based on my experience with the tool it is more suited and user friendly in terms of creating process repositories, architecture frameworks and views.
  • The product does support integration with Alfabet, SAP Solution Manager, WebMethods, Apama etc
  • But these can be supported by attending extensive training provided by Software AG.

Yes - The bug often is fixed in next releases/versions.
Working for multiple clients,we have come across many instances where SoftwareAG, has provided quick support and solutions or in worst case atleast a workaround for problem.
Provided support with ARIS Connect Portal customize build,ARIS implementations to newer versions,ARIS SAP Solmon integrations.

I am a BPM and Enterprise Architect Consultant and hence have been using different BPM and EA tools for consulting practice. Until now I have used Opentext Provision EA,Sparx EA, MS Visio and IBM Blueworks. All of the tools used are good and have their own unique features and capabilities. ARIS BPA is widely used by my current organization for different projects.

We had ARIS for SAP Solutions implemented for one of our client.Moving to newer versions can be challenging as we may not have enough root cause data for errors that may be encountered while the integration process.However,we the vendor technical support it is possible.

Upgrading ARIS Business Process Management (BPM)

Yes - New releases are only impacted in case if a client has built or done some customize views in there systems.
On regular upgrades the process is smooth most of the times.
There can be chances of downtime extensions in case the infrastructure setup has not been done well as per system requirements guidelines.
