Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

We primarily are using Articulate 360 to develop and create online/self-paced courses for our membership base for a variety of classes. This has allowed us to significantly upgrade and refine the user's learning experience, both on a cosmetic level and an interactive level. The tools and options at our disposal with Articulate 360 specifically have greatly expanded our ability to enhance our online offerings and have made the learning experience much more dynamic and involved. Students are no longer simply scrolling through PowerPoint slides and are more immersed in the information they are reviewing.
  • Expands instructional design palette with interactive tools such as flip cards, drop-down lists, quizzes, and video/audio.
  • A deep image library that enables to craft more visually-pleasing online/self-paced courses.
  • Review tool allows for specific commentary on elements/areas within a course that need revising/editing.
  • There's a bit of a learning curve. It takes some time to get used to the interface and litany of tools that are at one's disposal.
  • There are some tools (tables/bullet points) that are a bit finicky and it can be tricky discerning how to implement some of them.
  • The export to SCORM file feature has given us greater control and ownership of a litany of compliance-based training courses.
  • While there's a learning curve, Articulate 360 is easy enough to learn that it has allowed myself and several colleagues to familiarize and develop skills in instructional design.
  • Articulate 360 is a great point-by-point review tool that lets multiple users look at a course-in-progress and make notes/recommendations on edits.
  • Prior to implementing Articulate 360 (Rise), we outright owned relatively few of our self-paced/online courses, paying royalties to course authors. Since, we now own nearly all of our self-paced/online courses.
  • Rise and Articulate Review 360 have allowed for our department to have greater input in the layout and design of most of our online/self-paced classes.

Do you think Articulate 360 delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Articulate 360's feature set?

Yes

Did Articulate 360 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Articulate 360 go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Articulate 360 again?

Yes

I am not a fully trained instructional designer, but I found the user experience to be enjoyable. I have crafted my own revision of a course using Articulate 360 and while the process was lengthy, I found edits and changes to be relatively easy to implement. I also had a great deal of fun making tweaks, organizing and adding imagery. I think with regard to creating online courses/products for students to utilize, this is a great program and serves several levels of instructional design well (from me being brand new to this, to my supervisor who is newly certified, up to a longtime LD). I don't know that this is wholly relevant to courses that are live, be they in-person or virtual (Zoom webinars for example). Most of the material created in Articulate 360 tends to sit on the side of an on-demand, at-your-own-pace as far as coursework is concerned. A live course with an instructor, while it could be utilized in a live setting, the way it would be used I am unsure would be as dynamic or worthwhile as other more traditional options.
