Overall Satisfaction with Ascentis

Our organization uses Ascentis HRIS and Recruiting platforms. Both products are being used across all of our corporate staff. We migrated over from a rather archaic platform that we had been using for the past 5 years. Ascentis was able to automate so much of what our staff were previously doing, thus shortening our processes incredibly.
  • The fact that you can have a two step application process has worked so well for us. Our positions are mostly very Senior level in the IT and Engineering fields, and those types of applicants will not spent 30+ minutes filling out one application before they can even get on the phone with someone. Our applicant flow has increased dramatically!
  • Although we don't use the feature, the ability to have different applications for different positions or sector of the business is a really nice function to have!
  • I love the custom user fields. As the ATS administrator, I have been able to totally customize the system to our needs. The fact that you can then use those custom user fields in the reporting system is just incredible.
  • It took us a couple of consultants to get someone who really understand our needs for the Recruiting module. We did not have this issue with the other modules. It was clear that the recruiting consultants had never been a recruiter or actually been someone who worked within an ATS. I think this is a huge pitfall and only does the product a disservice as the product actually has a lot of potential if you know what a recruiter might be looking for.
  • We are still in the early stages of the product use (6 months), but overall it has shortened the time our Recruiting and HR processes so much, that we have been able to focus our time on more strategic initiatives like creating talent pipelines and sourcing for active roles within the organization.
The biggest difference between Greenhouse and Ascentis, is that Ascentis is a full service product, meaning you can get HRIS, Training and Development, ATS, and Payroll modules. Greenhouse only offers the ATS portion right now. For a small company on a small budget, have one company who offered various modules that we needed was a must have for us. Not only is it more cost effective, it's much easier for a smaller staff to maintain.
I specifically work with the ATS/Recruiting module, and there is still a lot of room for improvement in regards to support for the product. There are many things that I have had to figure out for myself because the consultants and help desk members are not recruiters and often don't understand my questions.

Ascentis works really well for small companies. The price point is really competitive for a small business and they seem to really take that into consideration. I am not sure how well this tool would work for a large business.
