Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use AVG Business Edition across our network to protect all of our Windows workstations. It gives us peace of mind against malicious viruses attacking our computers.

Pros and Cons

Pros

The client runs quietly in the background without distraction to the user.
Very aggressively defends against viruses in email attachments and across the LAN.
Real-time constant updates take the load off IT admin duties.
It just works.

Cons

Server admin console could be a bit more intuitive.
Licensing between business and consumer editions could be clearer and more intuitive.

Return on Investment

Definitely worth the cost and good ROI.
Because it takes the pressure off IT staff for constant management etc. We're freed up to deal with other important issues.
AVG runs in the background 24/7 doing its job and we have very few virus issues.

I've previously used Sophos, Norton, Avira, and Symantec and must say that AVG is as good or better than all of them. The updates are seamless and the degree of protection has been flawless. The cost/ROI is better than most, very affordable in the SMB world.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great software for network management, letting it run on clients and taking care of virus security. Not using the firewall option due to its restrictive nature, but may be applicable in some environments. It interferes with our native programs that are not properly configured.
