Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®
I handle the payroll side of BambooHR for my organization. One of the biggest problems BambooHR has helped us address is a disconnect between payroll and HR. By integrating these functions into one program, errors are reduced--for example, BambooHR would prevent a situation where an employee was terminated on the HR side but payroll was not notified or missed an email. By integrating the functions, room for human error is greatly reduced.
Pros

- Ease of use for managers to view and approve PTO
Cons
- Lack of an import function for commission-based employees
- Lack of integration with certain retirement plan administrators for 401(k) contributions
- No ability to enter recurring negative pay
- Saved money by reducing human error
- Onboarding process has been improved, allowing employees to enter their own information reducing transcription errors and time required for payroll to onboard employees
- Improved workflow for supplemental pay runs.
I have previously used a small local payroll provider in my area. BambooHR is superior in almost every category. The one area where BambooHR lags behind is the lack of import functionality for commission employees and integration with certain retirement plan administrators for employee retirement contributions.
