Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

We use BambooHR® for all personnel records, hiring, tracking and requesting time off. The software is compatible with our payroll provider, but we don't use BambooHR®'s payroll option. With the CORE level package, we don't get any value with the AI "Ask HR" feature, since you can't upload content to make it work correctly.

Pros

  • Tracks Vacation accrual
  • Gives clear history on all time-off taken, scheduled and used
  • Is the source of truth for titles, pay rates and much more

Cons

  • The ASK BAMBOO (AI) feature have little value add at the Core plan level
  • Candidates can't use a phone to sign pre-onboarding documents
  • Performance tab should be included without having to pay extra
  • Helped us move from paper to digital records
  • Keeps information organized with clear history going back years
  • Good re-hire processing to keep original employee number and history
It's clear and well appointed with prompts on where to go for each category of information it holds. The user has limited access based on a need to know/job related basis. It has a clear help option with the ability to chat, email or read documentation on how to do something.
I use the chat feature most often and the wait times can be long, but often I do get right in. When they promise to follow up, they always do. It seems the "support hero's" are very well training and knowledgeable. There are lots of resources in the form of print or video, too.
The software comes with quite a few pre-made reports, but the custom report feature makes it easy to drill down to the exact details you need. I love the fact that I can make a report, then share it with my team, so nobody needs to re-create the wheel. You can tweak reports easily, too.

BambooHR® is not in the same category as others that I have used. BambooHR is truly comprehensive and if you pay for all the extras, you wouldn't need anything else. The parts we use are great for us and the fact that we can add custom fields means that our unique needs are addressed.

ClickTime, Replicon Time & Attendance
BambooHR® is great for communicating with candidates during the hiring process. Lots of ways to automate responses and clearly identify the step each candidate is on in the process. If the company had a bonus structure, the Total Rewards would be a great way to highlight this. If we housed our benefits in BambooHR®, then it would complete the information - but we outsource this so it's of no value to us.
