Excellent Solution for Centralized Software for Small and Mid Sized Businesses
Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®
BambooHR® is our centralized software for employee information. It helps us with hiring, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, performance management, employee data management, and additionally integrates with several other systems we use for our behavioral health organization. Those integrations include rewards and recognition software, clinical data management software, 401k providers, video hiring software, and more.
Pros
- Onboarding and Offboarding workflows are extremely useful, customizable, and help ensure no onboarding and offboarding task is left incomplete. We used a paper checklist system prior to BambooHR®, and transferring to BambooHR® has freed up several hours every single day for our HR team to focus on more strategic initiatives.
- BambooHR®'s Integration marketplace is great, allowing us to synchronize our employee data and minimize repetitive administrative tasks.
- BambooHR® is setup to allow for company specific customizations. This includes access level customization as well as framework customizations. We can create tabs, tables, fields, etc. within BambooHR® to help support our business operations needs.
Cons
- BambooHR® has moved their offerings to a tiered package approach that groups features together at different tier and price levels. To gain access to a specific feature, you may need to upgrade to a whole new tier that includes additional features you may not be interested in. I would prefer being able to add-on one specific feature when needed.
- HR team members have been saved thousands of hours over the 3.5 years we've had BambooHR®. It saved me personally several hours a day once BambooHR® was set up. Specifically, onboarding, offboarding, and a formal Hiring system are the major time savers.
- Employee Information is much easier to access and is all centralized. Employees are empowered to update their information when applicable, and we have designed custom access levels for different positions and managers to ensure every individual is seeing the appropriate types of information about employees.
- We saved significant money by switching from Lattice to BambooHR®'s Performance Management solution. This solution is less advanced, but the simplicity meets our needs perfectly fine, and it even saves time for managers and employees by BambooHR®'s standard questions, carefully designed to get to the heart of performance and improvement.
I have custom created dozens of reports on specific informational fields. This includes Training Completion tracking, specific employee field reports, development related reports, among many more. Their Standard Reports are also extremely useful, especially with employee satisfaction and employee wellbeing reports on the corresponding surveys. These standard reports often also include visual charts and graphs that are very helpful.
- PerformYard and Lattice
Lattice is much more oriented towards performance management. It includes many more advanced performance management features from building actual assessments to also performance development planning. BambooHR® for us was a place to centralize our data and build from within as well as connect to external integrations. PerformYard is what we used prior to BambooHR® for onboarding workflows and performance reviews, but BambooHR® is far superior.
