I am with a Federally Qualified Healthcare organization. We use Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT for our financial reports, grant management, and accounting functions.

Pros

Provide statistical information for financial data
Ease of use for the Accounting and Finance team
Provide real-time dashboard information for executive team

Cons

Provide the ability to create the accounting classification in individual segments.
Provide easy configuration with third-party software integration.

Return on Investment

Positive ROI because we can perform all Accounting and Finance processes and reporting.
Negative ROI when trying to interface with third-party software.

Financial Edge NXT Trust & Compliance

We can manage our donor/funder reporting relatively easily, but there are some challenges.

Financial Edge NXT Organization Visibility

As long as we are looking at the company as a whole, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT works great. However, the CFO uses another software to view and report financial information by individual centers or departments.

NetSuite ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Oracle PeopleSoft ERP

The main reason for choosing Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT was cost. Blackbaud measures up with the above software when it comes to entering information.

Likelihood to Recommend

Running reports or general ledger details by specific accounting classification segments is a challenge. In prior software that I have used, I was able to run reports by only a department, center, or a specific General Ledger account number. However, this is a challenge in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT because the segments of the accounting classification are not held in the system as individual fields.
