Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

We utilize 5 of the BlackLine modules (Recs, Variance, Task, JE & Matching) within our Core Accounting Area & 2 of our subs. Utilizing the tool has helped us centralize and standardize processes and provides critical visibility to our business, from staff level all the way to the Executive level, helping to reduce risk and drive results
  • Automates Reconciliations. Utilizing interfaces with our ERP and templates within the tool, we are able to auto-certify just under 50% of our reconciliations. We anticipate being able to increase that as we continue in our journey.
  • Matching Automation. We were able to replace a particularly time inefficient process of matching sales to payments and credits via the Matching tool.
  • Variance. We were able to automate a very, very manual, extremely inconsistent and scattered Balance Sheet review process performed by our Intercompany team, making it much more efficient for close.
  • Reports cannot be emailed directly from the system.
  • We are unable to load multiple amortization items due to our 4-4-5 fiscal calendar.
  • We are unable to perform variance analysis based on basis points.
  • 47% auto-certification of reconciliations
  • Reduction 800 hours/month of reconciliation hours
  • Centralization of process and data minimizing need for other tools.
BlackLine is quick to respond and get back to me on any questions. When necessary, they have scheduled phone calls and meetings with my IT team to resolve and debug issues. Their implementation partners have been extremely helpful in resolving roadblocks during implementations and always answer any questions or concerns that arise.

Honestly, I can't think of a scenario where it isn't appropriate when it comes to the accounting world. The ability to standardize process and centralize process and documentation... not to mention automating so much of the transaction level detail. The tool provides, when setup correctly, provides HUGE insights in to where risk and opportunity reside.
