Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

We are currently using Reconciliations and Transaction Matching from Blackline. These help us to comply with SOX standards, reconcile many of our accounts automatically and eliminate many manual processes.

Pros

  • Transaction matching is the best part of Blackline because of its ability to be applied across many use cases. It can completely automate the bank reconciliation and intercompany reconciliation process eliminating the need for excel.

Cons

  • There is definitely a learning curve to this product and it requires quite a bit of training to get all the benefits. Once you have the training however, this tool is very powerful.
  • We are a rapidly growing company and this has allowed the finance team to keep up with the demands without significantly increasing headcount.

It takes quite a bit of training to obtain the full benefits and our team is out of capacity to do all the trainings.
Very fast and always able to come up with a solution.
Bank reconciliations, intercompany, and fixed assets are some quick wins. Deferred revenue and accrual automation will take a bit longer but are doable in this system.
