Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

We are using the Reconciliations and Tasks products. The biggest issue we are dealing with right now is how we are using the reconciliation product, as currently it is more like an Excel depository, and not a new way of performing the recs that makes us more efficient and accurate.

Pros

  • Tasks product provides live updates of were we are during close process.
  • A single place to go for any reconciliation support.

Cons

  • Guiding the customers how to best implement the products at the get go. Meaning the optimal way of using products.
  • Improved visibility into the close tasks status.
  • With more optimization to the reconciliation product, we believe it can provide time savings for the preparers and reviewers.
Rating based on the implementation experience only. No issues since then.
We are still early in the BlackLine transformation in our organization, but I believe that the changes it is bringing it will open up the door for future finance transformations whether within the BlackLine product suite or other technology. It allows us to get status information timely on the close process and act on that timely.

We have a hard time of adjusting how we perform and analyze the reconciliations. Unless the preparers put in a lot of time in preparation of the rec, the reviewer does not have insight into the trends, items missing, etc.
