Use Cases and Deployment Scope

BlueJeans is an easy "2-clicks" solution (download App, enter Meeting ID), that is used to connect anyone, anytime, anywhere within seconds. Considering the rules regarding VoIP of many countries, BlueJeans has consistently proven itself as THE solution, that works from anywhere in the world, which is a true blessing for any travelling professional. It helps me to communicate with a broad set of applicants and business partners from all over the world without any technical hassle. Highly recommended!

Pros and Cons

It can be used in any country in the world, which hardly any other solution provides. Considering that some countries prohibit the use of VPN or of typical VoIP solutions, this is an important point.
Ease of access: with the download of the app and a link to the individual meeting (or simply with a meeting ID).
Many people can participate at the same time, which makes an interview with several participants across the globe very easy.

It would be great to use BlueJeans as a "one-click"-solution, i.e. entering the virtual conference room without downloading the app, simply by using a link including the meeting ID.

Return on Investment

Saved money on travel
Ability to connect quickly in real time and "face-to-face"
Better user experience for applicants, since the interviewer and interviewee can see each other and communicate more openly than if just using audio

Alternatives Considered

Skype and Google Hangouts

In the countries I worked in (Middle East), Skype and Google Hangouts could not be used for technical reasons (VoIP is limited by law), so BlueJeans was the only option to keep the interviews going. Once downloaded, BlueJeans provided the opportunity to keep in touch and continue the conversations.

Usability

BlueJeans is easy to join, as soon as the App is downloaded. To enter a Meeting takes max. 5-10 seconds which is quite quick.

Everything is great about BlueJeans, however an extended version where an App Download is not needed, would push my rating up to 10.

In my business, where some contacts are called only once, the App solution is not ideal. However any other business, that relies on a steady communication with the same contacts, wouldn´t mind the App Download at all. Thus my point of "critcism" is quite subjective and would not apply to a broad range of businesses.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for:
Interviews, One-on-Ones, Team-Meetings, Listening to a Speech or Participating in a Small Conference with Global Participants

Less well suited for:
Highly interactive team-meetings, where one might want to doodle something in real-time, visible for the entire team, or where working on documents, like Excel files in a group effort are needed. Anything that requires different documents on different laptops and certain programs, that several people would need to work on simultaneously in real-time is limited.
