Overall Satisfaction with Canto

A digital asset management system is comprehensive file storage software that enabled us to secure digital media. Our DAM system, Canto, is an essential component of our brand management which ensures marketing and brand assets are easy to maintain and share.

Canto is being used across the entire organization, with about 1000 consumers and 12 admins. The primary users are engineers and Sales people.

Canto solved a huge bottleneck problem we had with regards to colleagues outside of Marketing accessing Marketing assets.
  • Presentations: Overview and Business Unit presentations . BUs and sales people can upload their presentations, and we can keep them in a single location.
  • Marketing media library: over 10k images, 500 brochures, 300 advertisements, 100s of presentations, and other media, such as videos and animations, that anyone can access instantly
  • Website content management
  • User interface
  • Previewing files
  • Positive - reduced bottlenecks
  • Positive - enabled Marketing team to focus on other priorities
Simple requests, like pulling a list of inactive users, from the Canto support team either takes too long to accomplish or is simply unfeasible. These services should be included with the annual subscription.

Canto passes the test for what we needed it to do. There are better products out there, but the price for those products makes them unreasonable for the basic functionality of a DAM system that we needed.

Canto lacks functionality that would make it a tough competitor, especially for the price point, of the other products. But product development seems to not be focused on the areas that need it the most.

Overall, Canto is a good product and does what we need it to do. But there is room for improvement.
Canto has solved our bottleneck problem for colleagues outside Marketing requesting Marketing collateral.
