Overall Satisfaction with Canvas

Canvas is used by the entire organization. It allows a common area for documentation and utilizes the functionality for all to access and review important information in a single location. Additionally, it provides functionality to the faculty and staff to create and execute courses within the same framework. This works well as users are familiar with the structure and allows for leveraging the product to various ends.
  • Canvas is a great tool to organize information in a clean and logical manner.
  • The application is user friendly in that it is easy to find information that needs to be addressed.
  • The GUI is instinctive and clean. Users can easily locate and add items to the program.
  • I would like to see some additional support information for the system. If a user gets lost it can be difficult to get back on track.
  • I have seen that there is a stronger connection to Canvas once an initial event has been experienced. Users are more likely to go back to this system, thus increasing use, and decreasing learning curves with new applications.
  • Because of the one stop shopping experience, it is easier to manage documentation for large projects and have one place for feedback to be collected.
In addition to the database functionality and document management capabilities, Canvas also offers additional functions which help to create one overall location for project management. These include remote connectivity and display capability, as well as interactivity with learners. It allows for multiple people to work within the system and not affect other users so that the work can get done.
How versatile is the system? I have found that there are many uses for Canvas and that, when incorporated, the system meets all of the needs of the organization. It can support remote class development, delivery for distance learning, document management and allow for discussions between participants to give an overall class experience.
