Overall Satisfaction with Cisco AnyConnect
We use CISCO AnyConnect for secure remote access to our internal networks for employees on managed endpoints. We have a remote work culture and this product enables the business to be mobile while still being able to access applications and infrastructure that cannot be internet facing.
- Integrates well with our existing two-factor authentication providers.
- Integrates with multiple identity stores.
- It can determine the health of client devices by scanning and interrogating the device before being allowed on the network.
- I'd like to see an expanded set of security capabilities to accommodate a Zero Trust type of architecture. This may be available, but I haven't seen it yet.
- I'd like to see AI & ML utilized to protect the network from an expanded set of threats.
- Fully enables business mobility while retaining network security perimeters/boundaries.
- Allows for endpoint compliance/risk check before allowing network access; this is a powerful security control most companies can use.
I honestly believe that the SSL VPN space is a fairly mature market and that most of well known, large VPN vendors have built parity into their products. They mostly have the same capabilities and architectural considerations. CISCO works well and is worth looking at if you are in the market, I recommend the product completely.
