Overall Satisfaction with Cisco DNA Center

Cisco DNA Center allows our IT Infrastructure team to centrally monitor and manage our Cisco-based network. The detailed analytics and dashboards available give us easy access to valuable insights and has become an integral part of our maintenance activities. This has been especially helpful in network mapping for a large distributed network such as ours that spans across multiple sites. The friendly user interface and integration options make the product extremely powerful without sacrificing ease of use.

  • Support for third party (non-Cisco) devices is limited.
  • Pricing can be expensive.
  • Integration options could be improved.
  • Lower maintenance effort through centralized monitoring and management.
  • Improved uptime due to proactive monitoring efforts.
  • Lower downtime and maintenance due to quick incident visibility and identification.
  • SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm)
We have evaluated SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm) for some time in the past and found that, while it has its merits (cost-effectiveness amongst others), the Cisco DNA Center is a more robust product overall, and is better suited for a primarily Cisco-based network infrastructure setup such as ours.

Do you think Cisco Catalyst Center delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Cisco Catalyst Center's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Catalyst Center live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Catalyst Center go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst Center again?

Yes

Cisco DNA Center is suited for large scale, high budget environments that primarily use Cisco products and utilize a centralized management and monitoring strategy. If you only have a couple of Cisco switches, a smaller network, or a lower budget, this may not be the most cost-effective solution out there.

Using Cisco DNA Center

The user interface is friendly and unintimidating. There has been a short learning curve.
