Malware Detection

License model is a nightmare
For time to time is too complex to configure
Needs other tools to get the result you are looking

Return on Investment

Cisco hardware is great, you could still have use for many year
Cisco support of EOL is quite short

Simplified Administration

We have been able to prevent unnecessary traffic from malicious request. Also prevent user to accessing compromised webpages

Support Rating

I used third party support as Cisco support is slow

Alternatives Considered

Palo Alto Networks AutoFocus

The price is competitive

Sophos UTM, Sophos Secure Email Gateways

In a medium to large organization that needs IPS solutions, and has the budget to acquire the licenses need it to have those functionalities.
[Cisco Firepower 1000 Series] is not suitable for small organization that need IPS solution as the license can be expensive.

I wouldn't recommend Firepower
