Cisco Headset 500 Series

Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Headsets

After we were all moved to remote positions in March of 2020 we saw a large increase in the number of online meetings and conferences we were required to attend since we were no longer in an in person office setting. The first thing most folks noticed is the laptop mic and speakers weren't cutting it anymore so I purchased one of Cisco's 500 Series headsets. It was an instantly noticeable upgrade to the way I'd been attending online meetings.
  • It is extremely affordable for the quality.
  • Crystal clear audio.
  • Great a picking up a wide range of sounds and cutting out background noise.
  • The wireless models could be a little easier to set up from a plug and play standpoint.
  • Return on Investment was immediate with the overall improvement in sound quality and speech.
  • I would say there were zero negative impacts.
Since I purchased the wired model the setup was extremely easy to the point where you plug in into your laptop, windows auto detected it, and installed the necessary drivers. I was up and running in under 10 minutes.
Thanks to its high quality audio it's extremely easy to hear everyone on the meeting and there's usually no need for me to adjust the volume like I did with my laptop speakers to hear everyone. The reduction of background noise has also made it much easier for people to hear me.
I have not yet downloaded or used the mobile app.
Since I work from home and am often not the only one here or on a call at any given time the Cisco 500 Series headset has done a great job reducing background noise and making it easier for folks on the meeting to hear me. The audio is excellent and setup of the wired headset was extremely easy. Both Google Hangout and WebEx had no problems identifying it.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Webex Meetings
  • Webex App
  • Cisco Headset 500 Series
  • Cisco AnyConnect
We have full implemented a remote/office hybrid plan which has been working well for all of 2022. We've maintained productivity and our staff are really happy with the freedom to work from home or the ability to go to a physical office space if they live near one and so desire to do so. Cisco GlobalProtect makes it easy for any user to access our VPN securely from any internet connection around the world.
With 5,000+ employees and offices in 24 different locations around the globe we needed one solution that we could implement across several different platforms. We also knew that some employees had no desire to ever come back to an office space and others that wanted to come everyday. So coming up with a system to make sure those that wanted to come back had somewhere to sit was a bit of a challenge.
As I mentioned earlier their GlobalProtect product has made it very easy for us to manage our VPN access to various data centers around the globe. A combination of WebEx (larger meetings) and Google hangouts has kept everyone connected and working well together.
For the most part it's been pretty flawless with minimal hiccups. Myself and my team of 8 individuals definitely enjoy the freedom of being able to work from were we want when it's convenient to us. Several of my folks have become more productive with timely responses to emails since they don't have to spend 1.5 hours a day in their car commuting to and from work.
Cisco obviously has one of the more dominant solutions in the remote/hybrid workspace due to how long they've offered solutions in this space. The are cost effective and easy to implement and maintain. The support they offer to their customers continues to impress and we've always been happy with their products. There really has been no reason to look elsewhere for dependable solutions to keeping a staff of 5,000+ employees connected.
  • Webex
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Zoom
  • Google Meet
Several of our larger customers use Microsoft Teams and Webex to schedule external calls with my team. Internally we're mostly a Google Meets company for smaller team/individual meetings and rely on Webex for our larger conference/external meetings.
