Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Cisco ISE is predominately used as our authentication and authorization for logging into our cisco systems. Cisco ISE also helps tracks who logged into which devices for us to audit changes made to our network. ISE also helps provide certain privileges to different users to make changes on the network.
Pros
- Helps keep track of users who have logged into network devices
- Provides a secure way to access the network
- Provides different levels of privileges for users to login
Cons
- Cisco ISE could provide more detailed logs for packet dumps
- Cisco ISE could speed up it's upgrade times
- Cisco ISE could compress it's database for smaller backups
- ISE is a bulkier application and can take longer to upgrade and backup
- ISE is great for providing security to authenticate and authorize users access to network devices
- ISE has a security log of who accessed what network device
- Infoblox DDI (BloxOne) and SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)
ISE has multiple cisco servers to provide redundancies to manage whenever a user logs into a cisco system. System administrators can conduct audits in the network to see who logged in and made what changes to the network. Users are granted different network privileges. which can be configured in cisco ISE
