Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MS
Meraki switches are excellent cloud-based switches that can take place of other switches. We are using Meraki devices (switches, MX, and more) in a couple of our networks that were recently acquired. The business problems that the MS switches address are similar to regular switch solutions. The difference is that MS switches are super easy to maintain and there are a lot of features being that they are cloud-based.
- Ease of Management
- Ease of Monitoring
- Ease of Deployment
- Could have more features potentially
- Data center driven switches
- MS provides great cost in ease of management
- The license cost is a drawback of these devices
- Monitoring and management time being cutdown has saved our org a lot of time
When it comes to deployment, management, and monitoring of network devices that are available on the market, I'd say that Meraki takes the cake. These devices are extremely easy to manage, monitor, and deploy. A deployment of a normal switch might take 5-8 hours of configuration, verification, etc. With Meraki, it might take 1-2 hours because you don't need to worry about hardening commands, additional licenses, etc.
Having Meraki MR AP's has been very nice for our organization. These AP's register with the cloud and are managed by the cloud. This is great to have for ease of management. Also, integrating with the MS switches makes it easy to see important information that would otherwise be challenging to gather.
Meraki switches are extremely easy to manage, monitor, and deploy. This being said, a smaller site that is new, or a site that might have some brand other than Cisco can easily be replaced by Meraki. This deployment doesn't take but a day or so, so cutting down time of deployment/management is awesome.
