Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MV

We have four different offices in different areas. As a Cisco partner, we decided to replace our four old camera systems with the Meraki MV solution. For our management and executive teams, it is a lot easier to get a great overview this way and to have a better understanding of the overall operations across the organization.
  • No need of a NVR or heavy infrastructure.
  • One simple cloud dashboard to set up for admin
  • Vision portal for users needing access to watch cameras (others than IT users)
  • Really easy to deploy
  • Cost is pretty high, even though you don't need to buy an NVR.

Do you think Cisco Meraki MV delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Meraki MV's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Meraki MV live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Meraki MV go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Meraki MV again?

Yes

  • Really easy deployment
  • Scalable without any issue
  • One easier solution to manage all offices
Meraki MV is managed into the same Meraki dashboard just like any other Meraki products. So IT teams usually already know/master this intuitive cloud based, single pane of glass dashboard. Like all the other Meraki products, MV's are really easily scalable. And even better now, viewers have an independent Vision Portal (web/app) and don't need to log into the IT portal dashboard.
We also use other Meraki products (MS / MR / SM ). We didn't try so far but also know that Meraki introduced MT (sensors). This could be a great addition to the portfolio eventually. The idea is always the same with Meraki, all products are easily managed throught the same cloud based dashboard.
I don't even know if there is a limit to Meraki product's scalability! We can group so many campus[es], offices, [and] organizations under the same cloud based dashboard that I don't even know what is the maximum devices count...if there is one. For our customers and us, it has never been an issue.
As a Cisco Partner, we didn't really look for [an]other camera solution. We simply decided to replace all of our camera systems in all our offices to get one easy to manage and centralized solution.
Usually, Meraki MV cost is quite high, so you need to deal with an experienced Cisco partner to make sure you're getting the greatest discounts you can have, especially for larger deployments. In opposite, in very small deals, Meraki MV can be an attractive solution based on price as you don't even need to buy a NVR. Just like with Meraki MR (access points), you can get great analytics info from the solution, and even more with some third party solutions on top of it. As you pay for a licence, Meraki has a evergreen model so make sure to always have the latest and greatest features.
