Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
Because we are reseller of the product, we are doing the configuration for them to set up their network because the MX is the firewall of the product family. It's being sold most and we use it a lot. Each device between the customer's alignment network and the underlay internet connection.
Pros
- It's a very easy deployed product. It's a combination of a router firewall access point. It does pretty much everything and it can be deployed very easily and give you a lot of security options to protect your internal land. So it's a good overall product for small and medium business.
Cons
- This product is controlled by dashboard, so they have the measurement of the control plan and also the data plan, which is the actual routing on the firewall. The improvement would be on the dashboard part. I think if we get a little bit of more control on let's say the administrator access levels, more routing, protocol accessibility, things like that, that would be good.
From our provider point of view, we basically do the network scope of the customer's current network and we will then design in a way that they will simply migrate to the Meraki network. That will be done before the implementation and once the design has been complete, then we will only take half day or even a couple hours to do the actual install. The minimized impact of the transition means it takes less time because a lot of the work has been done before that and every time we do the install and cutover, most of them are very successful because the technical detail has already been captured and being set out. Which is great and easy product to do.
I don't think we have have any other product integrated system. Well they have a large product family, they do access points, they do switches, right? They do a lot of other devices. We only reviewing the firewall. So if we are talking about Meraki in general is we basically do all their products.
