ISR 4000s are deployed in several locations and are used as routers and phone gateways.

The company uses Cisco UC and all of our core networking equipment including access points is Cisco made.
We use Cisco ISR to send netflow to a collector.
In recent years we have only used Cisco routers.

Evaluating Cisco Routers and Competitors

Yes - I replaced several less known router products (i.e. kentrox, package) as well as routers from Juniper in the past in order to keep the network uniform, reliable, and have access to good technical support.
I evaluate Cisco products on regular bases as new models become available and old devices are being replaced.

Its a good idea to have an active Smartnet contract before each larger deployment.

  • Each implementation can have its set of quirks however in case of Cisco routers things are straightforward.

Yes - Cisco Smartnet is an important contract for certain Cisco devices as not only tech support but also new software releases are made available.
I dont find this question neither appealing nor relevant as exceptional customer service and similar are just buzz words.
