Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall
We have a lot of customers that use it as a perimeter firewall, but also for internal network segmentation.
Within our organization we also use the Cisco Secure Firewall as a perimeter firewall.
We use it to enforce layer 3 segmentation, make use of ngfw features like DPI and Advanced malware protection as well as terminating vpns.

Pros
- VPN
- IPS
- Device profiling
Cons
- Accuracy of AMP
- Accuracy of IDS/IPS rulesets
- Realistic throughput
- Better traffic visibility
- Better endpoint visibility
- Less chance of breaches
From my experience the ngfw features like IDS and IPs heavily relate to the activated number of rulesets, which is the case for every vendor of course.
I think the throughput even under strict ruleset settings is very competitive.
Other next generation firewall features like deep packet inspection, device profiling features etc also all work really well from our experience

In our organization we have heavy use of vpn technologies especially ip sec and remote access vpns.
Therefore the Cisco Secure Firewall has for sure assisted us in making sure remote connections and data keeps confidentiality, integrity and reliable routing.
the Cisco Secure Firewall is very capable in that aspect just like the old asa was.

The Cisco Secure Firewall has less throughput than the Juniper SRX but easier integration and management. The FortiGate is extremely competitive in pricing and has a capable gui, but often gets called out for security vulnerebilities
