Overall Satisfaction with Cisco UCS Series

In our organization our main infrastructure ,the computer relies on Cisco UCS Series, like the servers, services, applications, databases, and desktop virtualization for users.

Pros

  • Particularly well management, ease of use and power.

Cons

  • Everything seemed fine on UCS side. Maybe diversity of configurations with the GPUs, maybe.
  • I'm going to start with the negative impact. Maybe in order to have the ease of use, you have to get some time to prepare correctly and to correctly to design the correct design. But now that you've done this time, you don't have to take that to get back to this configuration. You are all free. And this is the positive side, it's that when everything is prepared correctly, everything is smooth. So the use of the profiles, the connection of new servers, the decommissioning and the adding of new servers, the modification of configuration, everything is more easy to use and the less we interrupt user access to our service, the more the hospital is working fine and we can achieve a better support to our end users. And then to the patients.
The scalability with the use of adding more server chassis and profiling them to be quickly deployable and manageable on one website. The communication that are linked to each servers and with the Cisco UCS Series. In chassis particularly, it's more convenient because we have less wires and less port to connect. So it's ease of use. Again, the Cisco UCS Series service profile and the chassis profile. That's awesome to use for scalability and to deploy new servers.
The CPU line and performance line of the UCS, particularly the UCSX, last series of six and seven generation are very powerful with Intel and a MD, we did not try out a MD solution, but we are thinking about to improve our VDI capability for end users to make faster desktop environments and use space for our users.
Yes, totally. Because we can easily put some Austin maintenance. We have the information and monitoring solutions that are central in Cisco Intersight, our former UCS manager. So yes, we use all the solutions from UCS series and it's helpful for us in healthcare particularly because we do not have a lot of time to deal with maintenance and when there is maintenance there is an impact on end users and our end users are doctors, are nurses and other healthcare people. And at the end this is everyone that's getting healthcare. So if we can, we have to support all the doctors and nurses for the ease of work we have to make them a comfortable use of the new technologies, especially with Cisco UCS Series For now, Cisco UCS Series made us very reliable and very comfortable use and avoided us a lot of troubles.
