Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Umbrella
It provides seamless DNS-based malware filtering without needing an agent to be installed on endpoints.
Pros
- Very simple configuration
- Transparent to end-users
- Doesn't require constant care and feeding
Cons
- Active Directory integration is a bit cumbersome (hard-coded service account name requirement, less than clear permissions requirements, etc.)
- Hard to assess the monetary impact - just like with any security product
- Webex Meetings
Working through the implications. On the whole, it was very good for our organization.
Much greater flexibility. Our customers and employees were already geographically disperse, and this was an opportunity for positive culture change without adversely impacting productivity.
Enabled secure connectivity wherever our employees are.
Curated filtering lists make Umbrella much easier to maintain than running your own DNS-based filtering
