Overall Satisfaction with CloudFlare

We use Cloudflare for several use cases: cloud WAF, CDN, Certificates, and DNS. It manages our DNS domains, protecting our website with its WAF and also using caching and CDN. The WAF is protecting both cloud and on-prem websites. Our SOC team monitor all the security events, we use the API to pull the logs to the SIEM. Cloudflare also has integration with WPengine. Some permissions are granted to other departments to manage their own subdomains.
  • Simple UI.
  • Still be able to serve web pages even if the source site is down.
  • SSL certificates management.
  • On-boarding of a new domain is simple with clear instructions.
  • I wish they had more trends and reporting options.
  • No API protection.
  • WAF today is a must when you publish services online. The chances of breach or DOS is very high without such a solution.
  • With CloudFlare, you can purchase and manage SSL certificates. Eventually, it will cost less than purchasing them via dedicated services.
  • With the permissions delegation, you can let other people manage their specific domains, saving time for the Administrator.
CloudFlare has a lot to offer in one place: WAF, anti-DDOS, DNS, CDN, load balancer, and certificates. Other solutions don't offer that much, and if they do, they cost much more. So far we didn't experience major issues with the service, and Cloudflare Support was very responsive when we used them. I believe there are alternatives which focus on specific features and for that reason, they have more abilities, for example, in WAF. But if your environment doesn't require it, Cloudflare is a great solution.
