Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare
We use CloudFlare for DNS hosting and protection against malicious attacks on our corporate web sites. CloudFlare is superior to any DNS that you get bundled with domain registrations so it is my go to for any hosting. It also solves the price equation with it being free for our level of usage.
- Free! Most use cases will be free to use CloudFlare. You can't beat that!
- Easy to use. The interface is super easy to use to modify whatever settings you need.
- The advanced features are incredible! There is so much more you can do with CloudFlare that you'll likely never need to use it all.
- Since I have to give 3 areas for improvement I have to be really picky. The first would be to make it easy for non-technical users to use. That moves outside of their target demo, though.
- Push analytics reports to my email automatically.
- Include custom pages for free. One can dream, right?
- Our business has online presences to reassure our customers, not to gain new ones, so the actual ROI is smaller than for most other people.
- CloudFlare is super easy to use so I can make adjustments on the fly.
- Safety and security is important and I don't have to worry about a lot of things due to CloudFlare.
I view GoDaddy and Oracle Dyn as two ends of the spectrum. In full disclosure I'm a former employee at Dyn. GoDaddy DNS comes free with our domains and is nice and basic. A bit harder to use than CloudFlare, though. Dyn is fantastic but more than we need for a basic site. Plus the pricing is up there. CloudFlare has the pricing of GoDaddy and the performance of Dyn so it's the best of both worlds.
